Man's body discovered as an empty boat washes up on the South Coast of NSW

A man's body was discovered during the frantic hunt for a missing boater off the South Coast of New South Wales. At around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday of last week, an empty boat washed up on Haywards Beach in Bermagui, setting off the rescue operation. A 60-year-old guy from Victoria was the owner of the boat's registration. Despite a thorough search of the surrounding regions and the water, emergency officials were unable to locate the guy. The search was canceled on Thursday by the authorities.

Inspector Glenn Sullivan of Marine Rescue NSW stated, "Our volunteers from the Narooma and Bermagui units have displayed total commitment on the water looking for any signs of a missing person." Today, police confirmed that a man's corpse was discovered in the seas off Haywards Beach yesterday.

Police released a statement saying, "He is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be the missing man." "A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner."
