Thermal camera footage captured the image of the young girl walking through ankle-deep water near Tampa. A deputy in a helicopter spotted her and relayed the information to colleagues on the ground, saying, "Hey, I think I got her in the woods. She might be able to hear her name if you call her. She might be about 80ft in front of you."
Body camera footage recorded the moment when deputies made contact with the child. One deputy called out her name and raised his arms. The girl responded by also lifting her arms and walking towards him. With swift action, the deputy lifted her, reassuring her, "Let's get you out of the water. I'll get you to everyone," as they made their way back through the woods.
