Gulfood 2024: Elevating Dubai's Influence on the Global Food Industry
Dubai, UAE - His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, recently embarked on a tour of the 29th edition of Gulfood, the world's premier annual food, and beverage (F&B) sourcing event.
In his address, His Highness emphasized Gulfood 2024 as a testament to Dubai's evolving role in nurturing innovation, sustainability, and excellence within major global sectors. By spotlighting pioneering concepts and emerging trends shaping the future of the food industry, Gulfood solidifies Dubai's stature as a catalyst for growth on the global stage. Sheikh Maktoum underscored that this year's installment of the event has once again sparked fresh opportunities, partnerships, and insights capable of enriching the global F&B ecosystem and supply chain.
Highlighting the significance of events like Gulfood, His Highness noted their contribution to advancing the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aimed at doubling the city's GDP and positioning it among the world's top three urban economies. The substantial international participation witnessed at Gulfood underscores Dubai's prowess in creating platforms that facilitate market connections, uniting talent, investors, and innovators worldwide to unlock new potentials across key industries.
Accompanying HH Sheikh Maktoum on his visit was His Excellency Helal Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA).
Spanning from 19th to 23rd February, Gulfood 2024 brought together 5,500 exhibitors and visitors from 190 nations. During his tour, His Highness was acquainted with a diverse array of products, services, and technological innovations within the F&B sector, aimed at cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, waste reduction, sustainability promotion, and supply chain fortification.
