In June 2023, authorities received a distress call reporting an assault in the Satwa area of Dubai. Upon arrival, law enforcement found an African and an Asian severely injured at the scene. Despite efforts to save the victims, the African succumbed to his injuries days later, while the Asian recovered after receiving medical treatment.
Investigations revealed that the suspects, along with others, instigated the assault. One of the assailants confessed that they had gone to Satwa to purchase alcohol from African vendors, including the deceased. A confrontation ensued when the victim and others allegedly attacked him after refusing a request for immoral services in exchange for money. Subsequently, a physical altercation broke out involving all parties.
The other two suspects admitted to joining the fray after witnessing their friend being attacked. They pursued the victim to a nearby building, where they continued the assault, ultimately leading to his fatal fall down a staircase.
