UAE is at the forefront of the World Fire Emission Reduction Alliance's formation
The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai, on behalf of the UAE Ministry of Interior, has signed declarations of intent and memoranda of understanding (MoU) with national and international firefighting organizations to form the "World Fire Emission Reduction Alliance." The alliance aims to contribute to global collaborative efforts to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change, under the auspices of the International Climate Change Law Enforcement (I2LEC) initiative and in line with the goals of the 28th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP28), which began in Dubai on Thursday. It is aimed at forming an international coalition to reduce global carbon emissions resulting from fires.
