For breaking the domestic workers' law, 153 UAE employers were fined.
When domestic workers were discovered to be working for other companies, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) in the United Arab Emirates took action against 153 employers.
Employers who have violated regulations related to domestic workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are facing severe consequences, with their files now blocked, preventing them from applying for new domestic worker permits. These cases will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution, which can impose fines of up to AED 50,000 for such offenses.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security identified these violations during joint inspection campaigns conducted over the past two months. According to federal decree-law No. 9 of 2022, employing domestic workers without proper permits or allowing them to work for others without meeting conditions and settling their status is illegal.
The MoHRE emphasized the importance of dealing exclusively with licensed domestic worker recruitment agencies listed on its official website and social media pages. To further enhance compliance, the ministry urged individuals to report any negative practices or provide feedback about domestic worker recruitment agencies through its call center at 600590000.
