Rehab Eldalil is concerned about allegations that Israel is trying to force the 2.3 million residents of the besieged Gaza Strip into the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, which is where her family once lived, as Israel's assault on Gaza approaches its second month of conclusion. Egypt will not permit the relocation of Palestinians, according to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as doing so would signal "the end of the Palestinian cause" and pose a risk to Egypt's security. However, rumors have it that Israel would agree to help Egypt pay off part of its massive public debt in exchange for approving the forcible relocation of Gaza residents into Sinai. As Israel's attack on Gaza enters its second month of completion, Rehab Eldalil is worried about claims that the country is attempting to drive the 2.3 million inhabitants of the beleaguered Gaza Strip into the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, where her family used to dwell. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has said that Egypt would not allow the transfer of Palestinians because doing so would mean "the end of the Palestinian cause" and jeopardize Egypt's security. But there are speculations that if Israel approved the forced evacuation of Gaza inhabitants into Sinai, it might help Egypt settle some of its enormous public debt.
