In a significant move to empower Emiratis for roles in the private education sector, UAE authorities have introduced the Teaching Specialists Programme. This initiative, jointly launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Ministry of Education, and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), aims to recruit 1,000 UAE nationals annually, starting in 2024, to reach 4,000 Emiratis over four years.

The Teaching Specialists Programme is designed to equip UAE citizens with the necessary knowledge and skills for administrative and teaching positions. It will focus on roles in Arabic language, Islamic studies, social studies, national identity, kindergarten, primary school, special education, educational guidance, and leadership positions.

Targeting Emirati jobseekers registered on the Nafis platform, the program encourages those with a bachelor's degree in education to consider teaching and school-related professions, while individuals with a high school degree are encouraged to explore administrative and assistant roles. Interested participants can register on the Nafis platform.

The initiative is expected to play a vital role in supporting private educational institutions in meeting their annual Emiratisation targets. To enhance the program's effectiveness, agreements have been signed between Nafis and prominent institutions such as the Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates University, University of Sharjah, Sharjah Education Academy, and Emirates College for Advanced Education. These institutions will collaborate to design and implement targeted training programs aligned with the sector's specific needs.

Qualified trainers, laboratories, workshops, and support for registration processes, examinations, admissions, and individual development plans will be provided to ensure the success of the Teaching Specialists Programme. The initiative reflects the commitment of UAE authorities to develop local talent and enhance Emiratisation efforts in the private education sector.
