In collaboration with IRF, RTA honors 20 recent Emirati graduates from the Al-Masar Roads and Traffic Engineering Program
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), recently acknowledged the accomplishments of 20 Emirati graduate engineers. These engineers, both male and female, completed a 10-month specialized training program in Roads and Traffic Engineering. The program, conducted by RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency in collaboration with the International Road Federation (IRF) in Washington, USA, aims to enhance technical skills and competencies.
Al Tayer praised the graduates for their commitment to learning and encouraged them to pursue further education, develop leadership skills, and strive for continuous improvement in efficiency and professionalism. Emphasizing the significance of nurturing local talents for the future, he reiterated RTA's commitment to creating an environment that supports and empowers young leaders.
The Al-Masar Specialized Training Programme in Roads and Traffic Engineering, designed for engineers with one to three years of experience, covered 118 training hours over 10 months. The curriculum focused on key areas such as highway project management, traffic safety engineering, road design and safety auditing, traffic systems, modern transportation means, infrastructure asset management, quality of paving materials, contracts and procurement, and financial management of road projects. The graduates, who completed the program, participated in the "Roads to Tomorrow" conference in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, gaining international experience and presenting their project ideas. Athari Mohammed, Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA, highlighted that the training program aligns with RTA's plan to prepare young national talents, meeting the highest international standards.
