With 4,000 tonnes of supplies to help Gaza, a UAE aid ship docks in Al Arish
An aid vessel from the UAE, carrying 4,016 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, has docked in Al Arish City in preparation for its mission to Gaza as part of the "Gallant Knight 3" operation. This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The ship's arrival was observed by Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs; Mariam Khalifa Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General of the Local Affairs Sector at the Emirates Red Crescent; and Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai.
Departing from the port of Fujairah, the ship carried 3,465 tonnes of food supplies, 420 tonnes of shelter materials, and 131 tonnes of medical aid. The medical assistance was provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Emirates Red Crescent.
Sultan Al Shamsi emphasized the UAE's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their hardships, highlighting the nation's role as one of the first to extend humanitarian aid to Gaza. Rashid Al Mansouri underscored that this aid reflects the UAE's ongoing efforts to support initiatives and developmental projects aimed at assisting Palestinians affected by the challenging situation in Gaza.
As of December 15th, the UAE's aid to the Palestinian people under Operation "Gallant Knight 3" has exceeded 7,523 tonnes. The UAE air bridge has involved 111 aircraft and over 63 trucks in total.
