President Sheikh Mohamed met with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The discussion focused on the ongoing collaboration between the UAE and the WHO and explored avenues to enhance this relationship further.

The leaders underscored the importance of strengthening international health cooperation, considering the significant impact of diseases and global pandemics. Dr. Tedros commended Sheikh Mohamed for the successful hosting of Cop28 in Dubai and lauded the attention given to the health sector, recognizing its positive role in addressing health consequences related to climate change. He also praised the UAE President for global initiatives aimed at combating diseases and epidemics, highlighting the country's supportive role in WHO and its international health programs.

Dr. Tedros acknowledged the UAE's humanitarian and health support efforts in the Gaza Strip, particularly initiatives providing medical treatment to 1,000 children and their families in UAE hospitals, hosting an additional 1,000 cancer patients, and establishing a fully-equipped field hospital.

The meeting was attended by various dignitaries, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, and other high-ranking officials.
