Serving as the president of Queens' College within the University of Cambridge, Dr. El-Erian has earned recognition for his outstanding contributions to the field of economics and his insightful analysis of changes within economic and financial systems, as stated by the award organizers.

In addition to his role at Queens' College, Dr. El-Erian holds the position of chief economic adviser at Allianz and has previously served as the chief executive at Pimco. His academic affiliations include a professorship at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a senior global fellowship at the Lauder Institute.

The announcement of Dr. El-Erian's achievement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, who extended his congratulations and admiration for the economist's notable accomplishments.
