Manchester United team bus bottle attack is something Liverpool "utterly condemns."

Before Sunday's Premier League game, a fan hurled a bottle at the Manchester United team bus. Liverpool has criticized this behavior.

Social media users shared a video purportedly showing a Liverpool fan photographing themselves adjacent to the team bus before shooting the cider bottle at it. The fan, dressed in a gray jacket, recorded themself yelling "f*** off" and tossing a bottle of Kopparberg cider at the car.

A representative for the club stated: "The Manchester United team bus was damaged during its arrival at Anfield this afternoon, and Liverpool Football Club completely condemns the actions that led to that." We are cooperating with Merseyside Police to conduct a thorough investigation and find the person(s) guilty of the event, as we are aware of footage of it doing the rounds online. "Any individuals found guilty of this reprehensible behavior will also face the full force of the club's sanction process."

After a scoreless draw at Anfield on Sunday, Liverpool is now second in the Premier League behind champions Arsenal, while United is ranked ninth. There has been a long-standing rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool, with several fan-related events documented throughout the years. During the FA Cup final at Wembley in June, a United fan was taken into custody for donning a jersey that made a derogatory allusion to the Hillsborough disaster, which claimed the lives of 97 Liverpool fans.

Additionally, United denounced supporters who screamed "unacceptable" songs about Hillsborough in April of last year. In March, both teams issued a request to fans to stop "tragedy chanting" and online harassment. Manchester City, United's closest rivals, said that following a loss at Anfield in November of last year, an incident occurred on their team bus. 2018 saw Liverpool hit with fines as well, following fan attacks on the City bus ahead of a Champions League encounter.
