In advance of the 52nd UAE Union Day, Mohammed bin Rashid pardons 1,249 inmates

Ahead of the 52nd Union Day, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, has ordered the release of 1,249 detainees of various nationalities from Dubai's penal and correctional facilities. The Attorney General of Dubai, His Excellency Chancellor Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, stated that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed's decision to pardon the inmates shows how eager he is to bring happiness to their families and provide them with a fresh start and reintegration into society. Al-Humaidan went on to state that the legal process to carry out HH Sheikh Mohammed's directive has been started by Dubai Public Prosecution in coordination with Dubai Police.
