There will be no charges brought against a former pilot for Alaska Airlines who is suspected of attempting to turn off the engines of a Horizon Air aircraft. For every passenger on the flight, Joseph Emerson is charged with 84 counts of endangerment and one count of endangering an aircraft. He had earlier entered a not-guilty plea to federal accusations of interfering with a flight crew and state prosecutions of attempted murder. Emerson, 44, is charged with attempting to disable the engines during the trip from Everett, Washington, to San Francisco on October 22 while occupying the spare seat in the cockpit, according to the prosecution.
