Talks between NASA and the UAE aim to send Emirati astronauts to the Moon.
According to the head of NASA, negotiations are underway to allow Emirati astronauts to go to the Moon via the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre in the United Arab Emirates. Thus far, only American and Canadian astronauts have been assigned to trips as part of NASA's Artemis program, which aims to establish a lunar outpost this decade. Bill Nelson, the administrator of NASA, stated that talks had taken place between the two organizations during a media appearance on Wednesday on the UAE's involvement in the historic project. "Are discussions in progress? Yes, that is the response. We are not prepared to release a statement. In answer to an inquiry from The National, Mr. Nelson stated, "I will leave that to the space center here."
