Prague was struck by tragedy when a mass shooting at Charles University claimed fifteen lives.
A mass shooting at Charles University's Faculty of Arts, which is located in the center of the Old Town, left the ancient city of Prague in shock and tragedy.
Earlier today, a tragic incident unfolded, resulting in the loss of 15 lives, with nine individuals sustaining severe injuries. The Czech Police have confirmed the elimination of the shooter, bringing a halt to the horrifying episode.
In response to the assailant's deadly rampage, law enforcement swiftly evacuated the entire building, grappling to contain the unfolding crisis. Social media platforms became crucial tools for the police, who updated citizens on the situation, urging them to avoid the vicinity and stay indoors during the evacuation and subsequent investigations.
"We have already evacuated the entire building, and a pyrotechnic inspection is currently underway," conveyed the Czech Police in an official communication. The Faculty of Arts, situated near Prague's Old Town, serves not only as an academic institution but also as a popular tourist spot, intensifying the shock and concern surrounding the incident.
Reports indicate that students sought refuge inside locked classrooms as chaos erupted on campus.
