On Monday, Pakistan dispatched its third consignment of relief goods, totaling 20 tonnes, including medicines, surgical items, dry rations, and hygiene kits for the people of Gaza. The move comes in the wake of continued Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. The relief items will be handed over to the Red Crescent in Egypt for distribution upon arrival at Al Arish Airport.

The health ministry in Gaza reported alarming figures, stating that nearly 22,000 Palestinians have been killed, and 56,697 have been wounded in Israeli strikes in Gaza since October 7. The latest statistics include 156 Palestinians killed and 246 injured in the past 24 hours alone.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani oversaw the dispatch of the relief cargo via a special Pakistan Airforce aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase in Islamabad. During the sendoff ceremony, Jilani emphasized the consignment as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people on the first day of the new calendar year.

Expressing unwavering support for the Palestinian struggle for self-determination, Jilani underscored the urgency of a ceasefire and the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to the people of occupied Gaza facing brutal Israeli aggression.

The Palestinian ambassador, present at the ceremony, extended gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their continuous support, particularly marking the New Year with a significant gesture of solidarity with the Palestinians. This shipment follows Pakistan's second consignment of relief goods sent to the Gaza Strip in November of the previous year.
