Day six of the Gaza truce resulted in the release of 30 Palestinians
In the sixth such release, since the truce with Hamas began, thirty Palestinians have been freed from Israeli jails. They were freed from jails in Israel, the occupied West Bank, and Jerusalem, according to a statement from the Israeli Prison Service. The Israeli army said on Wednesday that Hamas has turned over four Thai citizens and ten Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip to the International Red Cross. As part of the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas last week, this is the sixth set of captives to be freed. It is unclear if more truce extensions that permit additional exchanges will occur. Israel has stated that they will prolong the ceasefire as long as Hamas continues to release captives, while Qatar, Egypt, and the US have continued to broker talks with both parties.
