On Christmas Day, five lifeless bodies were discovered in an apartment in Meaux, located east of Paris, as confirmed by the local prosecutor to AFP. The prosecutor, Jean-Baptiste Bladier, stated that a homicide inquiry had been initiated. The victims, as reported by news website Actu17, which broke the news, were identified as a woman and her four young children.
The authorities are actively searching for the 33-year-old father, who is currently evading law enforcement. The Versailles judicial police service has taken charge of the investigation. This incident adds to a recent series of tragic events in the Paris region involving the loss of innocent lives.
In late November, a 41-year-old man admitted to the murder of his three daughters, aged four to 11, and surrendered to the police. The lifeless bodies of the children were discovered in his residence in Alfortville, situated in the southeastern suburbs of the capital. A month earlier, in October, a gendarme took the lives of his three daughters before turning the weapon on himself at his residence in Vemars, Val-d'Oise. The occurrences underscore the gravity of such incidents and the urgent need for preventive measures to address issues contributing to these tragic outcomes.
