In a momentous ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, bestowed the prestigious title of Arab Hope Makers upon four outstanding individuals. Each finalist received a commendable financial reward of AED 1 million, highlighting their remarkable contributions to society. The event, graced by His Highness Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, celebrated the essence of hope in life transformation.
Tala Al Kalil emerged as the Arab Hope Maker for the 4th season, garnering the highest votes during the ceremony. However, recognizing the exceptional efforts of all finalists, Sheikh Mohammed directed that each finalist be honored with the title of Arab Hope Maker. Alongside Tala Al Kalil, the other distinguished finalists included Mohamed Al Najjar from Iraq, Amine Imnir from Morocco, and Fathiya Al Mahmoud from Egypt.
"In our part of the world, hope-making is synonymous with life-making. Collaborative efforts are the cornerstone of overcoming challenges," stated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, underscoring the significance of collective action in addressing societal issues.
He further emphasized the crucial role of fostering hope and optimism among the younger generation, highlighting the imperative of combatting despair. Sheikh Mohammed bestowed the top Arab Hope Maker title upon Tala Al Khalil for her commendable initiative aimed at providing mental support to children with Down Syndrome and cancer patients.
The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, alongside ministers, senior officials, and media representatives. Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, hailed the Hope Makers initiative as a manifestation of Sheikh Mohammed's vision to instill a culture of philanthropy across the Arab world.
The 4th season showcased a diverse range of charity initiatives serving Arab communities and beyond, with over 58,000 applicants demonstrating the region's rich philanthropic spirit. Al Gergawi reiterated the initiative's commitment to supporting voluntary work and celebrating endeavors aimed at improving lives and fostering hope.
The ceremony, held at the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai, captivated an audience of 12,000, highlighting the inspiring journeys of the finalists. From overcoming personal tragedies to championing causes for the underprivileged, each finalist's story resonated with hope, resilience, and compassion.
Dr. Mohamed Al Najjar's journey exemplified resilience as he transformed his setback into a beacon of hope for amputees in Iraq, while Amine Imnir's humanitarian efforts in Morocco showcased the power of social media in driving positive change. Fathiya Al Mahmoud's selfless dedication to caring for orphans in Egypt touched hearts, and Tala Al Khalil's commitment to providing solace to young cancer patients embodied the essence of hope-making.
Under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the Hope Makers initiative continues to inspire and empower individuals to create a better future, one act of kindness at a time.
