UAE homes have two weeks to install the required fire alarms

Additionally, the national deadline for installing smoke detectors in all homes is drawing near. If this describes you, then starting on Monday, January 1, 2024, having a fire alarm inside your property will be required by law.

Property owners are required to not only install fire safety devices but also to become members of the civil defense e-system. Owners have three years from the mandate's effective date in January 2021 to complete it. This implies that everyone who owns a home has until January 2024 to ensure that their fire alarms are installed. All currently constructed homes as well as those that are planned for the future must abide by the guidelines.

Before granting a completion certificate, federal or local government agencies responsible for granting licenses for the building of residential houses must verify that fire detectors have been installed and that the owner has enrolled in the e-system. The federal and municipal governments will pay for the installation of fire detectors in low-income households.
