As the host of COP28, the UAE aims to set a benchmark for green mobility infrastructure on a global scale. Al-Futtaim Automotive, the largest automotive distributor group in the UAE, has been a pioneer in promoting sustainability in the automotive industry. In 2008, it initiated a green revolution by introducing hybrid electric vehicles in collaboration with Toyota, laying the foundation for a sustainable future and contributing to the UAE's transition to cleaner transportation options.

Al-Futtaim Group's role as the Strategic E-Mobility Partner at COP28 reflects its dynamic leadership and steadfast commitment to sustainability across core economic sectors. The group's focus on green mobility is evident in its establishment of the Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, a dedicated entity driving sustainable initiatives.

Central to Al-Futtaim Automotive's green mobility strategy is the goal to democratize the electric vehicle (EV) market. By selecting diverse partners to cater to various EV customer needs in terms of price and capabilities, the company aims to make EVs accessible to a broad audience. Leveraging its position as a comprehensive automotive service provider, including financial services, Al-Futtaim Automotive offers attractive financial packages and ownership options, reinforcing its commitment to democratizing electric mobility.

The company has forged partnerships with renowned electric and hybrid brands, such as Polestar, BYD, Volvo Cars, River electric two-wheelers, Volvo Group for heavy-duty electric buses, trucks, and construction equipment, and Toyota & and Lexus. Additionally, Al-Futtaim Automotive has introduced its charging station brand, Charge2Moov, providing end-to-end solutions for EV customers.

Al-Futtaim Automotive's overarching goal is to contribute significantly to the UAE's green transformation by establishing a comprehensive EV ecosystem. At COP28, the company has pledged to achieve 50% new energy vehicles (NEVs) and install 10% of the charging stations in the UAE by 2030. Through these initiatives, Al-Futtaim Automotive aims to position itself as a regional leader in sustainable mobility, steering towards a zero-emission future in the UAE.
