The ceasefire in Gaza seems to be extended as Israel gets a fresh list of prisoners.

In the Israel-Hamas conflict, a four-day truce that released prisoners from Gaza in return for Palestinians detained in Israeli jails looked to be continuing into a fifth day, with mediators stating that the process will persist. There was an agreement to prolong the first four-day truce by two days; it was set to expire on Monday. Qatar, together with Egypt, has enabled indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas. Following a meeting of the UN Security Council behind closed doors on Monday, Alya Ahmed Saif Al-Thani, the ambassador of Qatar, told reporters, "We have an extension... two more days," adding that both sides were to release additional individuals. Al-Thani declared, "This is a very positive step." A new list of hostages, who are anticipated to be freed later in the day, has been obtained, according to Israel's Army Radio, which cited the prime minister's office. However, as of early Tuesday morning, the Israeli government had not formally confirmed the truce extension.
