A French senator is being evaluated for possibly doping an MP

According to the senator's attorney and the Paris prosecutor's office, a French senator has been placed under official investigation on allegations that he drugged a member of parliament to abuse her sexually. According to Guerriau's attorney Remi-Pierre Drai, who spoke to Reuters late on Friday, the 66-year-old conservative senator is being investigated for giving the 48-year-old MP Sandrine Josso "a substance liable to alter her discernment or control over her actions, to commit rape or sexual aggression, as well as for possession and use of substances classified as drugs." In an independent declaration, Guerriau refuted the accusations. According to Josso's attorney Julia Minkowski, she saw Guerriau holding a little plastic bag containing a white material, which made her think that the champagne she had been drinking at Guerriau's apartment this week had been tampered with. Why Josso was in the senator's apartment during the purported incident remained unclear.
