The Pakistani women's team defeated New Zealand in their inaugural series
The Pakistani women's team won their first-ever series against the White Ferns on Tuesday after defeating the New Zealand squad in Dunedin. Before the start of December 2023, New Zealand women's T20I record against Pakistan women was 8-0. But the Pakistani ladies' entire situation was turned around by two consecutive games. At the same location, the Girls in Green defeated their opponents by 10 runs in the second game to take a commanding 2-0 lead after winning the first by 7 wickets. Pakistan reduced the hosts to 127/7 after they were able to reach 137/6. Aalia Riaz scored 32 off of 22 for Pakistan, with three shots to the fence and one over the boundary. The first player, Muneeba Ali, scored 35. After some disciplined bowling from the Pakistanis, Georgia Pimmer and Hamma Rowe fought back and tried to get the hosts back into the game, but ultimately, New Zealand was 89/6. They were still 10 runs short, though, as Fatima Sana held on to hold off 17 off the last over.
